The centre
- Each participant works on their own microscope (OPMI pico, Carl Zeiss, Germany)
- Equipped with the instruments used in microscopic endodontic practice
- HD video streaming of live demonstrations
- Small groups and personal training
Advanced Endodontics
Two days of hands-on training and live demonstration.
- Module I: diagnosis, case selection, pain management, access cavity preparation
- Module II: cleaning and shaping, canal disinfection and irrigation protocol
- Module III: obturation (thermoplasticised techniques), post-endodontic restoration
- Magnification: why it matters, with hands-on use of dental loupes
- Procedures: ultrasonic troughing, perforation repair, MTA placement
- Live demonstration: molar endodontics under the microscope. Each participant performs one procedure under supervision.
Microdentistry
Basic module. Two days of intensive hands-on training and live demonstrations.
- Microscope adjustments and optimal operating positions
- Using the microscope for diagnosis
- Micro-endodontics, surgical endodontics and micro-restorative procedures
- Instruments and their use
Advanced module, after completing the basic module.
- Ultrasonics: troughing, retrieval of separated instruments, retro-preparation
- Perforation repair and MTA placement
- Microsurgical endodontics
- Live demonstration, and one procedure under the microscope per participant

Course director
Prof. Dr. Vinod Kumar, MDS, graduated from Bapuji Dental College, Davangere in 1999 and completed his MDS in Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics at Government Dental College, Bangalore in 2002. He founded Roots Dental Academy in 2010, has trained dentists across the country, and is an invited speaker at national and international conferences.
