Why a specialist

Root canals fail for reasons a specialist works to prevent

The usual causes are a canal that was missed, canals that were not fully cleaned and sealed, or saliva getting into the tooth. This is how we guard against each one.

  • An operating microscope on every case. It magnifies the tooth up to 25 times, so hidden and extra canals are found.
  • A rubber dam on every case, to keep saliva and germs out of the cleaned canals.
  • Single-use files and burs, and three-stage sterilisation of instruments.
  • Most treatments are finished in a single visit.
  • A free follow-up X-ray of your treated tooth every year.

Cost

What will it cost?

The fee depends on the tooth, how many canals it has, and whether an earlier treatment has to be redone. After your examination, Dr. Vinod explains your options and what each one costs, so you can decide before treatment starts.

Why specialist care can cost more

You are paying for a microscope on every case, single-use instruments, a rubber dam, and a yearly follow-up X-ray. A tooth treated well the first time saves you paying again for retreatment, an extraction or an implant.

Prevent tooth loss

Your own tooth is worth keeping. Here is how.

Act on early signs

Lingering sensitivity to hot or cold, pain on chewing, a darkening tooth or swollen gums. Treated early, a tooth is easier to save.

Finish the job after a root canal

A crown or filling placed late is a common reason root canals fail. Get it done on time, and keep your yearly check X-ray.

Ask before an extraction

Once a tooth is out, it is gone. A specialist opinion first costs little compared to an implant.

About Dr. Vinod

Questions patients ask

Before your visit

Does root canal treatment hurt?

The tooth is numbed with local anaesthetic first, so most people feel pressure rather than pain. Mild soreness for a few days afterwards is normal, especially when chewing, and the prescribed painkillers handle it.

How many visits will I need?

Most root canal treatments here are finished in a single visit. A severe infection or a retreatment can need more. Dr. Vinod will tell you at your examination.

How long will the tooth last?

With a good crown or filling and normal care, a tooth treated by a specialist can last as long as your other natural teeth.

Is a root canal better than an implant?

If your tooth can be saved predictably, keeping it is usually the better choice. An implant is a good replacement when a tooth truly cannot be saved. Dr. Vinod will tell you honestly which applies to you.
