Told your tooth must be removed?
An extraction cannot be undone. A specialist opinion first may save your tooth, and the cost of replacing it.
Teeth that can often still be saved
Teeth are sometimes removed when a specialist could have kept them. Dr. Vinod regularly treats teeth with:
- A root canal that failed, or an infection that came back
- A canal that was missed or is blocked
- A piece of instrument broken inside the canal
- An accidental hole in the root from earlier treatment
- Infection at the root tip that has not healed
The operating microscope lets him see and treat problems that cannot be seen with the naked eye.
Why keeping your own tooth matters
- Your own tooth keeps its natural feel when you bite and chew.
- The bone around it stays supported.
- You avoid surgery for an implant, the healing time, and the cost of a replacement.
An honest answer
Not every tooth can be saved. Some cracks run too deep into the root, and sometimes too little of the tooth is left. If that is true for your tooth, Dr. Vinod will tell you, and you can go ahead with removal knowing it was the right decision.
